Our first online Module of Inside Pictures 2020 came to an end last week.
Following a week of intensive workshops and presentations from speakers across Europe and Los Angeles, our 2020 cohort has returned to work across Europe and Canada. They will remain in close contact as they develop their projects with their partners ahead of further pitching and more varied sessions in September.
With more than 25 sessions over the week, participants heard from speakers working across each stage of the value chain, including development, finance, production, co-production, sales and distribution, television, marketing, legal and business affairs among others. Returning speakers included Tim Bevan from Working Title, Christos Michaels of Lee & Thompson, Rich Delia from Rich Delia Casting and Anne Thompson from IndieWire. New speakers included Síle Culley, who spoke about Audience Design and alumnus John Giwa Amu, who discussed Interactive Film, providing a case study of his recent hit, THE COMPLEX. Other sessions included Film Financing in LA from Adriana Banta of 30West and a Netflix session from Teresa Moneo and Lina Brouneus.
A highlight of the week included our Ambassador, Rose Garnett of BBC Films dropping in to meet the participants.
Module 2 will again be delivered online and will feature a host of speakers from North America and Europe. Participants will receive even greater insight into the US film industry, including both studio and independent production, and we will continue to look at how the industry will evolve to reflect our ever changing world.
We wish to thank all our Module 1 speakers for their generous contributions and continued support. More than just a training program, Inside Pictures is a professional network composed of an alumni community with truly global reach.
Inside Pictures is funded by Creative Europe and ScreenSkills, awarding funds from the National Lottery.
