Against the odds, the 18th edition of the Inside Pictures Programme came to a remarkable conclusion last week with the Graduation Reception at the impressive Ham Yard Hotel. Participants, alumni, industry guests and the IP team partied together into the early hours in celebration of completing another year of this fantastic programme during the pandemic.
Inside Pictures Patron Julia Short presented each participant with a certificate to mark their successful completion of the course, commending them on their journey through the programme and wishing them all the best as they continue their industry careers together. Clare Crean, Director of Content, toasted the five participants who were unable to travel due to the pandemic and proudly thanked all our speakers and contributors without whom we simply can not run this programme.
The party was preceded by a day of hybrid project pitches, with a handful of participants and panellists who were unable to take part joining us seamlessly via Zoom. Participants are paired up at the outset of their IP journey and have almost a year to develop and fine tune a film project which they present to our panel of industry leaders, comprising execs from across all sectors. It’s the participants’ opportunity to work together and share skills garnered through the programme before receiving invaluable feedback and expertise. Their passion whilst pitching their projects was commented on by Christos Michaels, Partner at Lee & Thompson. We’re quite sure many of these projects will come to fruition and on screens in the near future.
Four project pairs were recognised by the panel (picture below): Most Engaging Pitch won by Sarah Mosses and Paula Vaccaro, Most Likely to Succeed won by Ameenah Allen and Thania Dimitrakopoulou (not in person), Most Competent Accounting won by Martina Silcock and Francesca Bianchini, special commendation for Most Improved Project won by Boštjan Virc and Milena Hemmer (not in person).
